WFFC 35th Annual Business Meeting of 2017 E-zine

The WFFC New Jersey Chapter started off the new year with their Annual Business Meeting on January 18th at Boulevard Five72 in Kenilworth, NJ. WFFC President, Amy Marks-McGee, welcomed attendees to the members-only event, with a year in review of 2016 and goals for 2017, including thoughts for the reconfiguration of the WFFC website to make it more accessible and functional. Amy also introduced current and new members of the board, and thanked past board members for their service.

The theme of the night, “Back to the Basics,” recalled the 35-year history of the WFFC and was aimed towards giving members an introduction to the various factions of the not-for-profit organization. Committee chairs and members from the scholarship, program, education, communication, and membership committees presented brief summaries of their respective committees. A sign-up sheet was given to each table to encourage members to learn more and volunteer for committees of interest.

Unfortunately, not in attendance, the 2017 WFFC scholarship award recipients were announced. The 2017 Rita Flynn Memorial Fragrance Scholarship Award recipient, Anna Horowitz, is an undergraduate at Brown University pursuing a degree in The Science of Perfumery. Christina Chen, a Food Science undergraduate at Cornell University, is the 2017 recipient of the WFFC Flavor Scholarship Award.

The WFFC would like to thank all members who attended and were able to make donations towards Bottomless Closet.
