WFFC Cincinnati’s Past and Present

On Wednesday, February 8, 2017 the WFFC Cincinnati Chapter visited Rivertown Brewery and Barrel House in Lockland, Ohio for our first members-only event of 2017.  As one of the widest distributers of craft beer in Cincinnati, Rivertown is an independently-owned and rapidly growing brewery.  We toured the operational factory while learning Rivertown’s history and unique brewing process that sets it apart from the other microbreweries.  We discussed the four primary ingredients to make beer: hops, yeast, malt and water, and we also learned about the aging and processing methods to make the different sour beers for which Rivertown has made a name for itself over its past eight years in operation.  The taproom encourages connections and conversations and offers a variety of freshly brewed, hand-crafted beer on draft.

We enjoyed barrel-aged, beer-infused BBQ smoked on-site with specially-crafted homemade sides for dinner.  Members sipped on Rivertown’s signature selection of beer with a commemorative pint glass to take home.
