
Join the Cincinnati WFFC at Karrikin Spirits Company for an evening sure to tantalize your taste buds as we discover the methods and vocabulary used to describe the flavor profiles of flavored hard sodas. Sensory Scientists (and WFFC board members) Alex Cahoon and Ashley Ramudit will lead attendees through a mini Sensory 101 session as well as a tasting of flavored hard sodas. Attendees will walk away with a better understanding of the field of Sensory Science and a descriptive vocabulary around alcohol flavors sure to impress their friends at happy hour! Alex Cahoon
Sensory Manager, Flavor Producers, LLC
Alex Cahoon is the Sensory Manger at Flavor Producers, LLC in Sharonville, OH where she manages the internal sensory programs, sensory capabilities for commercial accounts, and cross functional sensory trainings. Alex’s interest in Sensory Science was peaked while in college at the University of Kentucky, graduating with a B.S. in Food Science. During her final year of college, Alex worked full time at Brown Forman in the sensory and consumer insights lab, before coming to Flavor Producers, LLC and developing a sensory department for the company.
Alex currently lives in Mason OH, with her husband and two dogs. In her free time, she would like to adventure and travel and does so when budget permits, but really, she likes to binge watch television, be with her friends and family, and excessively clean her house.

Ashley Ramudit
Sensory Analyst, MANE, Inc.
Ashley Ramudit is the Sensory Analyst for MANE, Inc. in Lebanon, Ohio where she oversees the sensory panels for commercial accounts. Ashley’s foray into the world of food (and eventually Sensory Science) began in high school when she discovered the food personality, Rachael Ray, and the television series, 30 Minute Meals. Ashley’s interest in cooking and nutrition led her to pursue a degree in Consumer Foods at the University of Georgia where she was introduced to Sensory Science. Following a stint in the test kitchens at Chick-fil-A’s headquarters in Atlanta, Ashley was accepted into the graduate program at Kansas State University. She completed her MS degree in Sensory Science and Consumer Behavior and moved to Cincinnati shortly after graduation.
Ashley has completed internships with ConAgra Foods (Omaha, Nebraska), Honeyrose Bakery (London, UK), and several sensory study-tours spanning from London to Spain to Thailand.
Ashley currently lives in Fairfield, Ohio with her husband, son and cat, Thomas O’Malley. During her free time, she enjoys hiking, reading, and trying to catch an afternoon nap.
