Women in Flavor and Fragrance Commerce, Inc. (WFFC), a not for profit organization that promotes the professional development of women in the flavor and fragrance industry, held their 34th Annual Gala on November 3, 2016 at the Westmount Country Club in Woodland Park, NJ.
The WFFC annual gala is the largest women run event within the flavor and fragrance industry. Each year, the WFFC honors a woman of distinction within the industry, which alternates between a fragrance and flavor recipient. Tamara Steele, Senior Vice President, US Prestige Beauty Group Elizabeth Arden, was this year’s WFFC gala honoree.
WFFC President Amy Marks-McGee opened the evening by introducing Tamara to the 640 gala guests. Ron Rolleston, Elizabeth Arden Executive Vice President Global Fragrance Marketing and Creative Services, spoke with admiration and added details of Tamara’s many career accomplishments. Ron shared an Elizabeth Arden video, which highlighted Arden’s history, community involvement with Pencil and a collection of accolades from colleagues. Together Amy and Ron painted a picture of a woman who possesses an impressive professional image while tirelessly, and collaboratively, contributing to further successes in the fragrance industry.
Tamara received an enthusiastic standing ovation from the gala guests as she poised herself to accept the award. She shared details of her career, emphasizing the importance of empowering and engaging others to create opportunities, address challenges and achieve accomplishments.
The spirit of convivial generosity extended throughout this beautiful fall night. Elizabeth Arden kindly provided each guest an I Love Juicy Couture fragrance and Elizabeth Arden lip gloss. Givaudan was the elegant evening’s premium sponsor. Berjé Inc., Citrus and Allied Essences Ltd. and The Panzarasa Group sponsored the cocktail hour while five lucky guests received a complimentary WFFC one year membership sponsored by Comax Flavors. Copies of the latest edition of Perfumer & Flavorist magazine were provided at the venue.
