    Account Executive

    We are searching for an Account Executive to lead us into an emerging market segment for FFS by establishing relationships to grow sales and market share. This newly created position will report to the Director of Flavor Sales and will be expected to identify the right customers for FFS, monitor the category landscape for changes and trends, and to meet sales goals.


    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develop, implement and execute strategies to enhance FFS’s position in the savory market
    • Meet or exceed sales goals
    • Collaborate with marketing, the flavor lab and production teams to establish and deliver 
      customer solutions
    • Become the subject matter expert for our customers in the savory market
    • Stay current in the developments and trends of the savory market
    • Collaborate with our international support teams to bring innovations and solutions to our    customers
    • Attend trade shows and other events


    Education and/or Experience

    • Bachelor degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university
    • At least 5 years of sales experience
    • Experience working in the savory and/or meat industries a plus
    • Related food or culinary experience also a plus. Examples: specialty additives or blends, food equipment equipment/machinery, food service management



    • Excellent consulting skills will be a key to success
    • Communication (verbal, written, presentation) are important as well
    • Understanding and interpreting data to establish strategies and identify trends
    • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and experience also important



    • Though working in our Mahwah, NJ office, this position requires up to 30% travel (some overnight) to customer locations, trade shows, and our production facility in Baltimore, MD

    Firmenich - New York, NY

    We currently have an immediate opportunity for an Account Manager to join our Fine Fragrance team located in New York, NY.

    Our Account Manager will work on a global Fine Fragrance Account.



    • Manage products life cycle with MDM, demand planning, customer care and supply chain to ensure high level of service to clients and good working practices for Firmenich (such as good forecasts)
    • Build the account sales budget annually, monitor sales and profitability versus objectives, provide input to quarterly Sales forecast
    • Monitor and optimize all other financial aspects of the account, in particular expenses (incl. market research) vs budget and clients overdues vs objectives
    • Make sure all commercial data and documentation are accurate and properly maintained (see details in sales assistant's job desc.)


    • Define account objectives, develop commercial strategy, implement through account plan
    • Identify and document business potentials and competitive landscape
    • Develop successful working relationship with clients, establish Firmenich as key partner to obtain briefs for profitable business
    • Monitor client satisfaction and initiate corrective action where needed
    • Identify business opportunities, decision factors and success criteria and define action plan accordingly
    • Maximize business vitality


    • Get clear and complete briefing from clients, translate their needs into Firmenich projects; brief creation and development teams
    • Anticipate clients' needs and lead proactive projects to generate new business opportunities
    • Drive projects towards the best possible solution for both the client and Firmenich
    • Define accurate pricing and margin parameters for each project, according to guidelines, and enter properly all project
    • Information in project management system according to established rules (incl. regulatory) (including project models rules in PE) Lead/coordinate projects with internal partners and with clients (including fragrance/flavor/ingredient submissions)
    • Share visit reports, client information and feed-backs, and when needed conduct post-mortem analysis


    • Bachelors or Master degree or equivalent (business administration, economics, marketing, science...)
    • Minimum of 5 years of fragrance/flavor/ingredient sales experience
    • Sales and Negotiation skills
    • Extended product expertise and passion for fragrance/ flavors/ingredients
    • Ability to prepare and deliver presentations to clients and to demonstrate Firmenich superiority
    • Ability to develop strategic plans, define, prioritize and implement action plans according to business opportunities and success factors
    • Good team player, seen as a strong partner by the development teams involved in clients' projects

    Regulatory Compliance Manager

    We currently have an opening for a Regulatory Compliance Manager.  This individual will be responsible for the creation of a Regulatory Compliance Process to support the existing infrastructure as well as keep the company abreast of changes to regulatory law and labeling compliance.

    We are seeking an individual that has excellent written and oral skills with demonstrated interpersonal and organization abilities.  This candidate should have a desire to create processes from the ground up through hands on applications, network with necessary organizations to advise the company of pending changes and become an expert on labeling, selling and exporting our fragrance products. Job requirements and responsibilities will include:

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Be the expert on IFRA, GHS, EPA, CARB and CPSC regulations and the impact on the company’s list of product categories; providing or filing any necessary reports for compliance and working with vendors to obtain needed info
    • Maintenance of SDS library for all existing, new fragrances, products and resources
    • End Consumer Poison control subscription point of contact
    • Be a quality check for labeling, date codes, and formulations during production
    • Becoming an expert in labeling requirements for new categories and working as a consultant with the brands to create compliant packaging/ensure current packaging meets requirements
    • Candidate must be a team player and willing to teach and to learn.

    The Ideal candidate will also possess the following skills:

    • Able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines.
    • Able to promptly answer support related email, phone calls and other electronic communications.
    • Self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized.
    • Experience with hardware and software issues; experience with C++ programming language
    • Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills.

    Education and/or Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Science or related experience with regulatory matters.
    • Must possess superior skills in researching the science of fragrance and end consumer products.
    • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
    • Respond proactively to sales, brand teams, production and product development lab team needs.

    Flavor Marketing Specialist - Mahwah, NJ

    The Flavor Marketing Specialist provides the Flavor Group with creative and strategic tools including market overviews and analysis, concept development and trend identification. The position will require a high degree of collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive strategies, deliver forward-thinking concepts and stay current with new product launches and consumer insights.

    • Analyze trends and markets using research intelligence tools such as Mintel to create and present

      marketing campaigns for the target markets of Beverage, Bakery, Savory, Dairy, FMP’s,

    • Contribute to the development of long-term strategic and tactical marketing plans.

    • Define copy and coordinate targeted customer communications.

    • Routinely evaluate the market to identify new trends, gaps, and flavor preferences.

    • Assist in planning and attend flavor trade show events.

    • Participate in flavor lab panels and tastings for flavor customer projects.

    • Coordinate brainstorming sessions for new concepts.

    • Review trade journals and consumer publications for relevant flavor and collection ideas.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Education and/or Experience

    Four year college or university degree with at least four years related job experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Computer Skills

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should be knowledgeable with Microsoft Power Point, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite or other graphic programs would be helpful.
