    Senior Creative Fragrance Manager at Givaudan – Your future position?

    As a Senior Creative Fragrance Manager (Senior CFM) in our Consumer Products division, you will be fundamental in guiding perfumers in the fragrance development process and driving the strategic olfactive vision. In your role as an olfactory development specialist, understanding the existing fragrance portfolio will be essential, in addition to analysing current olfactory styles, forecasting future trends and assessing consumer preferences.  In this role, you will be taking a leadership position on global projects as well as strategic initiatives. You will actively collaborate with Perfumers, sales and global creative centers, as well as interpret marketing knowledge and technical expertise, in order to assist customers in developing successful olfactory strategies. You will be responsible for selecting winning fragrance themes and allocating internal and external resources according to the win-rate initiative.

     

    As a Senior CFM you will:

     

    • Develop new fragrances: contribute to the fragrance development process, collaborate with; account managers, perfumers, marketing, research and technical experts to identify winning fragrance directions.  In addition, motivate, evaluate and critique Perfumers submissions to meet the creativity and time constraints of frequent new product launches.

     

    • Manage multiple creative briefs: pro-actively manage multiple complex briefs with global reach and develop or select fragrances according to customer guidelines.

     

    • Research and analyse market trends: participate in olfactive analysis of new products to identify interesting notes for creative fragrance development.  In addition, anticipate market tastes and work closely with Marketing on proactive concept generation and new fragrance/product ideas that will continue to delight our customers.

     

    • Create olfactory guidelines: define fragrances to be tested and translate Consumer Market Research results into olfactory guidelines for perfumers, whilst working with laboratories to test product stability.  Embrace efficiency and encourage better ways of working.

       

    • Customer Knowledge/Relationship: partner with customers/consultants on olfactive expertise, brief requirements, technical matters and other issues.  Engage in customer presentations/interactions to help drive the vision of our fragrances.

     

    • Communication and Collaboration: deliver open, effective communication and build strong relationships to motivate across functional teams. Act as a mentor/ train junior evaluators as needed.

    Your professional profile includes:

    • Minimum 10+ years’ functional/technical experience in industry
    • Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree preferred
    • Strong olfactive acuity and expert knowledge of fragrance families and market types
    • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills are a must
    • Demonstrate knowledge of technical problem solving, regulatory issues, client requirements and expectations and marketing ability
    • A creative thinker able to interpret client requirements and align these with creative results
    • Ability to manage multiple and complex evaluation projects, and respect deadlines among different teams

    Job Title:
    Senior Strategic Buyer

    Responsibilities:

    1. Develops, validates and implements North America sourcing strategy for assigned categories of raw materials, identifies cost savings opportunities.  Based on market intelligence, internal demands and supply dynamics, negotiates purchasing contracts to achieve optimal total ownership costs.  Mitigates supply risks and maintains security of supply
    2. Research and develop alternate suppliers, using various internet and industry research tools
    3. Maintains constructive relationships with internal stakeholders, e.g., Supply Chain,  Perfumers,  Sales, Quality Controls and Regulatory
    4. Performs in-depth procurement data analysis by extracting reports from SAP, using Excel analytics tools
    5. Participates in raw material budgeting and variance process
    6. Provides department support for data projects as well as other departmental duties
    7. Participates in global initiatives as required
    8. Maintains SAP data according to Purchasing processes
    9. Prepares a quarterly supplier diversity report in conjunction with other North America Divisions

    Knowledge and Experience Requirements:

    • Minimum 5-year purchasing experiences in raw materials
    • Robust analytical and critical thinking skills
    • 3-5 years SAP user experience, mid-to-advanced level of Excel
    • Commitment to excellence and capacity for working with complexity
    • Good writing skills
    • Working experiences in the fragrance, cosmetic and flavor industry are preferred
